Project Thanks ~ Week 1

Project ThanksA season of Thanksgiving is upon us!

Here we are, it’s the first Monday of November! I invited you last week to join my family in embarking on a project of thanks.

As we begin this month of thanksgiving let’s ask God to tune our hearts to gratitude. Psalm 9:1 says, “I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.”

My family will be meditating on this verse during the week, you may want to post it in a prominent place in your home and join us in practicing an attitude of thanks and praise.

During this first week of Project Thanks we’re going to focus on people who serve us in tangible ways, garbage collectors, mailmen, etc. All week let’s look for people doing hard jobs that make our lives better and tell them thank you.

At the end of the week I’ll share who our family thanked and ask you about your experience. I hope you’ll take a picture and upload it to The Accidental Mama Facebook page so we can all celebrate together!

Of course feel free to thank whomever you would like. I do hope this week you will thank those around you who serve in often messy, challenging ways, but the weekly suggestions are just to help you get started.

Last week I suggested putting some thank you notes and a small gift in your car or kids backpack to be ready to spontaneously thank the people around you. If you have some good ideas of how to show thanks feel free to share them in the comments!

I’m looking forward to hearing your stories of thanks!

I hope our hearts will be challenged and expanded as we seek to connect with other people in a moment of gratitude and appreciation. Everyone wants to know they matter, what a great opportunity to give them the gift of an “I see you”!
